Rehabilitation Services
Hancock Health offers rehabilitation services for adults and children at multiple convenient East Central Indiana locations—including our patients’ homes.
Aquatics & Sports Medicine
Our Aquatics and Sports Medicine program is located at the Hancock Wellness Center in Greenfield. We offer individualized training and rehabilitation in a warm-water pool to help patients have a timely recovery.
Services include:
- Sports-specific training and progression
- Off-season conditioning and strengthening
- Individual programming
- Work conditioning
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists help people of all ages learn or relearn the skills they need for independent living, like bathing, grooming, hygiene, and other essential activities. We work with patients in the Hancock Regional Hospital, in patients’ homes, and at other Hancock Health locations. We also provide home and work environment evaluations to identify potential safety risks and prevent injuries.
Our occupational therapy program treats a wide range of conditions, including:
- Orthopedic injuries
- Decreased strength
- Range of motion deficits
- Developmental disabilities
- Psychiatric disorders
- Arthritis pain
- Decreased functional levels
- Pediatric conditions and injuries
- Sensory integration dysfunction
- Recovery from fracture or joint replacement
- Stroke, spinal cord injury, and neurological conditions
- Upper extremity injuries
- Lymphedema
Physical Therapy
Physical therapists use education and exercise to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. Our physical therapists are certified in Astym therapy, a leading-edge approach to stimulating the body’s capacity for healing itself. They evaluate musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions and treat patients across the continuum of care, including:
- Back, neck, and joint pain
- Sprains and strains
- Open wounds or burns
- Gait disturbance
- Poor posture and scoliosis
- Arthritis pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Lymphedema
- SI joint dysfunction/pelvic pain
- Vestibular/balance rehabilitation
- Decreased strength
- Range-of-motion deficits
- Decreased functional levels
- Orthopedic injuries/surgeries
- Foot deformities or pain in children and adults
- Recovery from fracture or joint replacement
- Stroke, spinal cord injury, and neurological conditions
Speech Therapy
Our speech therapists examine patients’ vocal cord function by means of a videostroboscopy, a method used to visualize the dynamics of vocal cord vibration. From there, we determine an individualized therapeutic approach to help each patient.
