The ACR Accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging, ensuring that we provide the highest level of image quality and safety for our patients. Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC)
The ACHC accreditation certifies that Hancock Health has demonstrated a commitment to excellence that is backed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and industry experts. ACHC evaluates organizational structure, policies and procedures, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
American Diabetes Association (ADA)
The ADA Accreditation sets the national standard for diabetes education, recognizing the quality of our Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support program. Learn more about diabetes care here.
Baby-Friendly Hospital Designation
Baby-Friendly USA (BFUSA) is the national authority on safe and successful breastfeeding practices. Hancock Regional Hospital is just one of 603 Baby-Friendly Hospitals in the United States. To receive this designation, we must be able to educate new parents on breastfeeding techniques and, in cases when breastfeeding may not work, provide alternatives that are healthy for the baby. Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE)
The American College of Radiology’s BICOE designation recognizes our commitment to excellence in breast imaging. Hancock Health passed a comprehensive assessment of our medical imaging facilities and patient outcomes to receive this designation. Learn more about breast health services here.
College of American Pathologists (CAP)
The CAP Accreditation recognizes the quality of our laboratories. To maintain this accreditation, we must adhere to requirements concerning accuracy and safety in our labs. Standards include the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) publicly reports on the quality of hospitals across the country to provide data for patients. Commission on Cancer (CoC)
Our Sue Ann Wortman Cancer Center has been granted three-year accreditation from the CoC, a quality program of the American College of Surgeons. To earn the accreditation, our program had to meet 34 quality standards, including patient service, well-being, quality of care, and cancer outcomes, as well as maintain levels of excellence in comprehensive, patient-centered care. Hancock Regional Hospital has received an A safety score from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, one of only 11 hospitals in Indiana to be so honored. This rating ensures we are committed to continuously improving our safety standards, having effective leadership, and reducing risks for patients. It proves our dedication to working together to increase patient safety.
Lown Institute Hospitals Index Grades
The Lown Institute Hospitals Index recognizes Hancock Regional Hospital as one of the nation’s safest hospitals. We were also awarded top grades in patient satisfaction and pay equity.
Society of Chest Pain Centers Accreditation
