Breast Health
Hearing your voice helps us give you the breast care you need. Offering women everything from early detection services to treatment options to reconstructive surgery, Hancock Health is a Mayo Clinic Care Network member—which empowers our providers to consult with world-leading Mayo Clinic specialists on patient diagnosis and treatment.
Preventative Care & Screenings
The earlier breast issues are detected, the easier they are to treat. Fortunately, our screenings and early detection measures let us create a care plan personalized to meet your unique needs.
Along with regular mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs, our Hancock Health women’s health services include genetic testing. If your family has a history of breast cancer, this test can help evaluate your chances of developing the disease yourself—and can help us understand how to best lower your risk factors.
High-Risk Breast Clinic
Breast Cancer is a scary diagnosis that all women wish to avoid. While prevention and screenings are key players in this cause, some women who are deemed “high-risk” may need advanced options. At Hancock Health, breast health is taken seriously and, by giving women information, choices and guiding them when they need it, we are changing the battle against breast cancer.
Breast cancer can be complex and many women want to reduce their chances of it well before they are in need of treatments. That’s why Hancock Health has partnered with Ambry Genetics, a leader in clinical and diagnostic testing, to utilize the Ambry CARE Program™ to identify patients at a higher risk of developing cancer.
Any woman at any time can call to schedule a consultation with the High-Risk Breast Clinic. They do not have to be a current patient of Hancock Health. The goal of our High-Risk Breast Clinic is to listen, educate, and collaborate on a plan of care that meets your specific risk level, needs, and comfort level.
What Is Genetic Testing?
Only a small fraction of people with a hereditary predisposition to cancer are aware of that fact. Genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk can help patients be proactive about their health care and make decisions with their care team on preventative surgeries, cancer screenings, and targeted cancer therapies. The Ambry CARE Program™allows us to arm our patients with information to understand their risk and treatment options.
