Live Well and Prosper with Our September Live Healthy Challenges

September 2, 2020

If you’ve been keeping up with our monthly Hancock Health Challenges, you’re already well on your way to healthier, happier living. But it’s important to keep building on the positive choices that have gotten you this far—and to keep living healthy through the fall and beyond.

From stocking your pantry to planning exercise routines, this September is all about looking ahead. As Ben Franklin once said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail,” so it’s important to set yourself up for success.

As always, we want to see what you’re doing to live a healthier life. When you complete a Hancock Health Challenge, post a picture or video on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter with the hashtag #HancockHealthChallenge.

Check out the September challenges below. Here’s to your good health!

Week 1: Stock up.

When COVID-19 hit this spring, we learned just how critical a well-stocked pantry can be. For the first week of September, we’re challenging you to take an inventory of your pantry and fill in the gaps to ensure healthy, home-cooked meals are always on standby. Be sure to look at our guide to reorganizing your pantry to be ready when winter weather hits.

Week 2: Chart a course.

It’s easy to miss an appointment if it isn’t on your calendar. During the second week of September, we’re challenging you to set aside a few minutes to make your annual exam plan. It’ll be easier to stay on top of your annual physical and basic, preventative care appointments by creating a road map now—and your future self with thank you.

Week 3: Stop and smell the roses.

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” This quote from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off proves true. When you’re focused on one task, it can be easy to miss all the wonderful things right in front of your face. This week, we’re challenging you to be mindful of your surroundings, and live observantly.

Week 4: Keep grinding.

Regular exercise is an essential part of any good health and wellness plan. If you’ve been keeping up with our health challenges for a while, you already know your way around the gym or exercise trail. Even if you don’t know the difference between a bicep curl and a bench press, now’s a great time to establish your fitness routine.

Remember: We want to see you in action! And don’t forget to download one of our new Live Healthy Challenge desktop wallpapers to help remind you about healthy living all month long.
