How Can a Hancock Wellness Center Nutrition Consult with a Dietitian Help?

We all know that eating healthy is important. But many of us are left wondering what defines healthy. Each body is different and, therefore, may require a different plan when it comes to getting various nutrients each day. This is where a dietitian’s help becomes an important resource. Whether you are supporting your body through an illness, chronic condition, or trying to meet athletic performance goals, Hancock Wellness Center dietitians are here to help create an individualized plan that can support you on your wellness journey. Ask about a nutrition consult today!

Can a dietitian help with more than just weight loss?

When we hear the word “dietitian” the idea of weight loss may come to mind. Although dietitians are trained to help clients maintain a healthy weight, that isn’t the only reason you should consult one. In fact, our registered dietitians, available at all three of our Hancock Wellness Centers, can help you reach many lifestyle goals throughout any season of life.

Nutrition and sports performance goals

Food is the fuel that helps you achieve your fitness goals. Dietitians can help you create a specialized nutrition plan that addresses performance activity depending on what you want to achieve. Are you getting ready to run the Mini Marathon this spring? Long distance running requires a special balance of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. What about weightlifting? Registered dietitians understand the complexity of how the body converts energy to build muscle and can help you get to the next level. Even if you are just trying to achieve a better stamina in your fitness overall, dietitians can make sure you know how to give your body the proper nutrition that it needs to keep up.

Medical nutrition therapy

More and more Hoosiers are being diagnosed with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, obesity, and more. Did you know that what you eat can profoundly affect your body’s ability to heal and thrive? Registered dietitians understand the therapeutic benefits of managing nutrition. Consulting with a dietitian can help you feel empowered to help your body in the healing process and support a lifestyle that keeps chronic conditions at bay.

General nutrition consultations

Dietitians are available for all types of questions when it comes to nutrition. From weight loss to muscle gain or just living a healthy lifestyle, a general nutrition consultation can help you to understand more about what you should be putting on your plate. Even more importantly, how to eat in a way that is sustainable for your lifestyle. Instead of handing over diet instructions or lists of foods to avoid, many dietitians teach their clients the importance of moderation and enjoying their food to create a healthy relationship with the foods we eat.

Ask about our dietitians at the Wellness Center front desk

Our Registered Dietitians work in all three locations: McCordsville, New Palestine and Greenfield, ensuring that members have access to important nutritional information. We also offer many educational support groups and programs that incorporate healthier lifestyle and activity including our Physician Referral Program, diabetes education and more. Anyone is welcome to stop by our dietitian’s office in each wellness center to ask questions about programming or nutritional consultations. You can also stop by the front desk to learn more and find out about events and workshops focused on nutrition.

Eating healthy might not come easily to everyone, but our dietitians are here to give you the support you need to succeed in all areas of your life!
