Hancock Health proudly announced today the birth of the 75th baby born at Hancock Regional Hospital in 2026, marking a meaningful milestone during the organization’s 75th anniversary year of serving the community.

“This moment beautifully reflects why Hancock Health was founded in the first place: to ensure families in our community have access to compassionate, high-quality care close to home,” said Steve Long, CEO of Hancock Health. “Celebrating our 75th baby during our 75th year is a powerful reminder of the trust generations of families have placed in us.”

Baby Oren, born to the parents Brian and Carmella Palmer of Wilkinson, arrived at 11:30 AM on February 24, weighing 7 lbs. 15 oz. and measuring 20.5 inches. The newborn and family were welcomed by Hancock Health care team members as part of a special anniversary recognition celebrating both new life and the hospital’s enduring legacy.

Hancock Health was founded through the vision of Greenfield resident Fannie Andis, who became determined to bring a hospital to Hancock County so families could receive care locally. That vision became reality 75 years ago and continues to guide the organization today.

“For our family, this experience has been incredibly special,” said Carmella Palmer. “Knowing our baby is part of Hancock Health’s history makes this moment even more meaningful.”

Since opening its doors in 1951, Hancock Health has grown into an independent, integrated healthcare system with more than 30 locations, serving East Central Indiana and beyond. The organization is recognized for its commitment to innovation, patient-centered care, and strong community partnerships.

The birth of the 75th baby is one of several moments Hancock Health is highlighting throughout its anniversary year to honor its past, celebrate its present, and look ahead to the future of healthcare in the community.
