GREENFIELD, IND. (November 10, 2021) — Hancock Regional Hospital received an “A” grade
from Leapfrog Hospital Safety in the national organization’s Fall 2021 rankings. Leapfrog
Hospital Safety bestowed this national recognition that highlights Hancock Health’s achievement
in protecting patients from sickness, harm, or error while in the hospital’s care. This is the third
consecutive time Hancock Regional Hospital has received this recognition after earning an “A”
grade in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.

“I want to thank all of the Hancock Health physicians, nurses, and other staff for the tremendous
work they do for our patients,” said Steve Long, president and CEO. “Patient safety is not just
the work of one person, it has to be a team effort. Throughout a challenging year that has seen
our community battling a global pandemic, we have never once lowered our standards or
expectations for patient care.”

Over the last several months, Hancock Health has made numerous investments to improve
health outcomes for all patients. Improvements to the hospital’s surgical facilities and a new
neonatal partnership with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital demonstrate a continued
commitment to excellence.

Hancock Regional Hospital was also recognized as the safest hospital in Indiana by the Lown
Institute Hospitals Index earlier this year. The Lown Institute also awarded “A” grades in patient
satisfaction and pay equity.
