Hancock Health Takes Steps to Expand Healthcare Footprint

March 2, 2018
Greenfield, IN (March 1, 2018) – Hancock Health announced today that it has completed a significant land purchase on the southwest corner of Mt. Comfort Road (exit 96) and I-70 in addition to a small parcel of land on State Road 52 in New Palestine.  All as part of the strategy to expand world class healthcare into the western part of Hancock County.

“We believe, and experts confirm, that patients that receive services at our New Palestine and McCordsville practices need a closer, more convenient location to their homes,” said Rob Matt, chief strategy and innovation officer. “We are discovering those within the western third of our county are not as familiar with us and are going into the Indy metro area and north to Fishers/Carmel. Why? Because they are either unaware of the Hancock Health brand or they feel Greenfield is “far away.” So how do we change that? We expand into those areas and make our presence known.”

In 2017, Hancock Health embarked on a journey to create an organizational strategy to help chart their path into the future. That work impressed upon a need to increase presence and awareness in the market, especially in the western portion of Hancock County.  A focus on growth and cost are necessary to thrive in an ever-changing and highly competitive industry.

“While we have short-term plans in place for this location, longer term plans are still being developed.  This is because many potential options are available to us in this location, and the demographics and growth trends remain in flux,” stated Steve Long, CEO and president. “ What we do know is that we need to give our patients, current and future, access to a unique level of high quality, low-cost services which may include low-cost imaging, lab and other service options.”

As healthcare transitions to a more inclusive, transparent and engaged part of people’s lives, it is known that healthcare systems and providers need to appeal to an audience who is looking for fast, easy, convenient access to their healthcare.
