For more than 40 years, the Hancock Health Foundation has supported the advancement of healthcare and wellness in and beyond Hancock County. Our awards, scholarships, and programs support the evolving health needs of our community and raise funds for critical issues. Hancock Health does not receive tax dollars; the foundation’s work is crucial in bridging funding gaps, providing care for those without resources, and driving our population health programs. Each month, Hancock Health writes off approximately $1.5 million in uncompensated services for our patients who do not have the financial means to pay. We believe everyone deserves access to high-quality care, with or without insurance. We are proud to support the advancement of health and wellness in our community.

Healthier communities offer a better quality of life for residents and a better environment for employers. Excellent medical care is just one element of a community’s overall health. The Hancock Health network offers a wide range of wellness resources, including health education classes and behavioral health support, to help people live healthful lives.

The Hancock Health Foundation’s work is crucial in supporting under-funded services, covering care for those with limited resources and providing community programs focused on advancing health and wellness.  In recent years, donations to Hancock Health Foundation have made the following advancements in healthcare possible:

• Construction and ongoing support for the Sue Ann Wortman Cancer Center
• Inpatient hospice and palliative care services
• Opening of the Hancock Health Connection Center, providing mental health and substance misuse treatment, as well as Support Navigation services and connection to community resources.
• Providing crucial healthcare services for under/uninsured women through the Women Helping Women program.

Funds raised by the Hancock Health Foundation help Hancock Health add professional services and expand support programs for the mental well-being of our community members.

The Hancock Health Foundation’s 47th Annual Golf Benefit was held on June 12th and 13th at Royal Hylands Golf Club in Knightstown. We hosted three flights of golfers. With the help of more than 40 volunteers, the outing included a putting contest, skins game, closest to the pin and hole-in-one competitions, in addition to cash prizes for each flight’s first and second place teams.

The Women’s Clinic at Hancock Health provides basic health services for under/uninsured women in Hancock County, including mammograms, ultrasounds, and biopsies, as well as education, navigation, and support services.

Through the annual Women Helping Women Celebration, we raise crucial funding for the clinic, ensuring healthcare access for hundreds of local women in need.

Hancock Health Foundation offers the Bobby Keen and Bert Curry Healthy Community Awards to recognize an individual and a local organization or hospital program that has made a significant positive impact on the health of our community. The winners are announced at the foundation’s annual year-end holiday celebration. To nominate an individual or organization for these awards, submit a nomination form.
