Hancock Health is honored to announce our “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety – for the tenth consecutive time. This prestigious rating is a direct reflection of the prioritization Hancock places on patient safety and well-being, and our entire team of dedicated providers, physicians and staff is proud of this accomplishment. Today’s announcement makes Hancock Regional Hospital the highest graded hospital in the state for this cycle and the longest running “A” grade in Indiana.
“At Hancock Health, we prioritize patient safety so patients can focus on feeling their best and getting back to their normal lives,” said Hancock Health CEO Steve Long. “We are honored to receive this Leapfrog Group safety grade for the tenth time and will continue to dedicate resources to ensuring the best experiences for our patients.”
Hancock Health holds itself to the highest standards and will continue to raise the bar to keep putting our patients first, ensuring they feel safe and well cared for throughout their entire patient journey.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that are the cause of mortality for more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
