The Hancock Health Wellness Centers are passionate about helping Hancock County residents live healthier, happier lives. For some this is easier than for others. Those suffering from conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity, arthritis and other health risks may have a more difficult time getting started. In these cases, the Clinical Exercise Program helps to create a safe and effective environment, with the help of physicians and exercise specialists, for patients who want to decrease their risk factors and get on the path to leading a healthier life.
Hancock Health Wellness Centers’ Clinical Exercise Program
The Hancock Health Wellness Centers are the only certified medical fitness facilities in the region. This means that, alongside professionally trained staff and state-of-the-art facilities, we can also offer programming that does far more than a regular gym membership. Our Clinical Exercise Program creates an accessible and affordable way for Hancock County residents to transform their lives by using exercise as medicine.
How does it work?
Any healthcare provider, both in and out of the Hancock Health network, can refer a patient to our Clinical Exercise Program, a 60-day program that is designed to improve the overall health of patients suffering from a variety of chronic conditions. Patients meet with exercise specialists, medically qualified experts and dietitians to create an individualized plan.
Each patient participates in individual assessments using InBody technology throughout the program to measure weight loss, body fat percentage, body composition and BMI. Blood pressure and glucose are also monitored consistently and patients track key psychological and physical gains to mark measurable improvements by the end of their 60 days.
What is the commitment?
Most patients are surprised to find that the entire cost to join the Clinical Exercise Program is only $60. This covers the whole program, including three days of monitored exercise per week for two months as well as assessments and meetings with medically qualified staff. This is an amazing deal, and one that has already helped many patients transform their quality of life.
Sarah Hurst, MS, ACSM-EP, XFS, XPS, CF-L2 and Clinical Exercise Supervisor for Hancock Health Wellness Centers, says, “I am proud to work for a place that values healthcare from the preventative aspect! It’s no surprise the amount of benefit that exercise can provide patients and the impact that it can really have on our community. I am passionate about others learning and feeling the benefits of exercise and we have a great team of degreed, Exercise Specialists that guide this experience.”
