Feel Better at Gateway Hancock Health’s Immediate Care

February 14, 2022

Going to an urgent care clinic when you’re injured or under the weather is probably your last resort.

We don’t blame you. They’re known for slow-moving lines, unfriendly staff, and drab surroundings—not to mention confusing billing systems that make you feel even sicker when you try to figure out what you owe.

That’s one of the reasons we built Gateway Hancock Health: so you’ll be able to access our expert doctors, nurses, and associates in a pleasant, welcoming environment that’s close to home. What’s more, we make sure our bills are easy to understand. You’ll receive one bill per visit, not multiple, and it’ll include all the care you received.

The key features of Gateway Hancock Health include:

Located Close to Home

Instead of driving across the city, you can find Gateway conveniently located 15 minutes or less from New Palestine, Greenfield, McCordsville, Lawrence, Irvington, and the eastside of Indianapolis.

Open When Your Doctor’s Office Isn’t

Gateway’s immediate care is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, after most doctor’s offices are closed. You don’t have to be a Hancock Health patient to come in, either. We’ll take care of you, no matter which healthcare system your doctor is associated with, and send your records to you and your primary care physician.

It’s a One-Stop Shop

Gateway has the tools to help you feel better and they’re all under one roof. Whether you’re dealing with a broken bone, the flu, or you’re not sure what’s making you feel sick, Gateway’s equipped to help you heal.

Not only can you easily access Gateway’s friendly care team, but you can also get your blood tests, MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, or X-rays without leaving the building. You and your doctor will receive quick results, too—within 36 hours in most cases.

Routine Physicals, Vaccinations, and Screenings

Maybe you’re not sick or hurt. Maybe your son or daughter just needs a sports physical or vaccination or you’re looking for a quick preventive health screening. Gateway is set up to handle those kinds of routine appointments, too.

Affordable Care

Gateway’s lab and imaging prices are, on average, 70% lower than you’d pay at a hospital. For example, an MRI that might cost as much as $1,600 is just $599 at Gateway. A thyroid screening could set you back more than $400. At Gateway, the same screening is just $50. If you want to know what you’ll pay before you get your care, we can provide estimates.

You don’t have to be one of our immediate care patients to access our affordable labs and imaging, either. If your doctor orders any of those services, no matter which healthcare system they’re associated with, we can take care of you and quickly get the results to you and them.

Helpful Staff

You can expect Gateway’s healthcare experts to go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable while they work to make your health possible.

Gateway has dedicated staff members, called health advocates, to help you with everything from checking in and out to understanding your bill and making sure you’re comfortable in our waiting area. Need water or coffee or tea? We’ve got that. Want help getting to your examination room? We can do that, too. Just want to talk about your health? We’ll listen and let you know what’s next in your care plan.

Pleasant Environment

Gateway was constructed with your experience as a patient in mind. The furniture is comfortable and there’s free Wi-Fi so you can get things done. The building’s design creates a soothing environment with lots of natural light, and there are plants and artwork, too, so you’ll feel as at home as possible. If you have more questions about the services we provide at Gateway Hancock Health, contact us at info@hancockgateway.org or 317-866-7300.
