January 31, 2020

And don’t forget: When you complete a challenge, post a picture or video of your experience on your Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter account with the hashtag #HancockHealthChallenge. You’ll be entered for a chance to win a $250 Hancock Wellness Center gift card.

Without further ado, here’s what we’re challenging you to do this February:

Week 1: Go an extra mile, every day.

Run, walk, or amble an extra mile each day. We say “extra” because the average American already gets around 2.5 miles in total steps each day. But the recommended amount is roughly double that.

Week 2: Take our heart health risk assessment.

When you understand your current heart health and your heart health risks, you’ll be better able to plan for a healthy future.

Week 3: Pack Your Lunch Every Day

When you pack your own lunch, you can make healthier choices, control your portions, and save money (which reduces your stress). Brown bag or vintage lunchbox: your choice.

Week 4: Have a Screen-Free Evening

A challenge to be sure, but you can do it! Turn off your phone and your TV and give your eyes—and your stress level—a break from 21st century distractions. Play a board game. Tell stories. Read a book.

Again, don’t be shy about sharing thoughts, pictures, or videos of your challenges online. And download one of our Get Healthy Challenge desktop wallpapers to remind yourself to stay on track. Now get busy getting healthy, already!
