A Passion for Serving the Under-Served

May 10, 2016
You’ve heard the name said before. You may have heard someone refer a patient here. You, yourself, may have referred someone here. You may even know that Hancock Health is a partner to us and responsible for helping to bring us to this wonderful community we live in and serve. But, what exactly is The Jane Pauley Community Health Center and what is it that we do?

The Jane Pauley Community Health Center was established in 2009 to offer comprehensive, primary health care, regardless of one’s ability to pay. We are here to help those who have no insurance or income receive the care they need in a respectful and confidential manner. We do accept Medicaid, HIP and most major insurance plans. For those without any insurance we do offer financial assistance based on income and family size. In addition, we have a member of our team that is available five days a week to help enroll and navigate people through the HIP or Marketplace application process.

We offer a wide variety of services including, but not limited to, primary health care, acute care, treatment of chronic health conditions, behavioral health care, preventive care, immunizations, lab work and dental care (located inside the Walker Career Center and – coming soon – a location in Anderson, Indiana!).

Our hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Appointments are scheduled from 8 a.m.-3:40 p.m. by calling (317) 477-5263.

On staff we have two part time physicians, Dr. Teresa Jones and Dr. John Fleming. Dr. Jones has been a longstanding provider in our community. She is available to see patients on Thursdays. Dr. Fleming is the medical director for The Jane Pauley Community Health Center and is available on Tuesdays to see acute walk-ins.

We also have two behavioral health specialist available on Monday, Thursday and Friday.

We are excited to announce the addition of our two new Nurse Practitioners, Heather Alder, NP-C started with us on March 14 and is available for appointments Monday through Friday. Chelsea Isaac, FNP will be starting with us on May 9 and will be available for appointments Monday through Wednesday and Friday.

I welcome you to stop in some day and take a tour of the facility and meet the staff. We would love to see you and answer any questions you may have.

If you are looking for a reason to stop by we do have an upcoming event, on Thursday June 30, in partnership with Indiana Primary Health Care Association, we will be hosting a health fair that will include community resources, general health screenings and refreshments. If you are interested in participating in this event, please send me an e-mail at nmann@hancockregional.org.
