Created in 2013 through a gift from the John F. Stickford Revocable Trust. Mr. Stickford was a long-time resident of Hancock County who had great respect for those working in health care. The scholarship helps promote excellence in nursing by supporting local students. The amount of the scholarship will be determined annually and will cover the cost of the recipient’s tuition for one year. The scholarship will be renewed each year that the recipient is in their nursing program, if they maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.

• Be accepted into a Bachelor of Science (to become a Registered Nurse) or Master of Science (to become a Nurse Practitioner) program at an Indiana public university. The program must be accredited through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Sign a contract stating that they will work for one year as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in Hancock County or Shelby County, preferably at Hancock Health or Major Hospital, for each year that they have received the scholarship. If the recipient does not complete the nursing program, the full amount of the scholarship shall be refunded to the Hancock Health Foundation.
• High school seniors accepted into a pre-nursing program are ない eligible.

Selection criteria includes academic achievement, community or extracurricular involvement, and demonstrated experience in nursing activities.

Scholarship recipients will be chosen each year by a committee, which will include members of the Hancock Health Foundation’s Awards & Scholarship Committee, as well as the head of the Nursing Department at Hancock Health, or a designated nursing representative. Interviews may be conducted with applicants. The funds appropriated for this scholarship will be paid directly to the school of the recipient, and the student is responsible for submitting a copy of their transcript to the foundation at the conclusion of each semester.

Three letters of reference (dated 2024 or 2025) are required from persons not related to you. At least one letter must be from an academic professional from your current program/school. If applicable, letters should be on official letterhead. All letters must be signed. You are required to upload these letters below before your application may be submitted.

Created in 1970 in memory of a dedicated local nurse, Edith Zike, to encourage entry into the nursing profession. The Hancock Health Foundation provides nursing scholarships of up to $2,000 per recipient.

Created in 2017 by the parents of Jill Billings Peloso-Carr. Jill was born at Hancock Memorial Hospital in 1962 and began working in the cafeteria at Hancock Memorial Hospital while in high school. She went on to serve nearly 20 years as the Director of Nutritional Services. Jill had a passion for food service, which was evident in her career and volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and the W.I.C. program. This scholarship has been established to honor her memory and provide assistance to local students who wish to pursue a career in the food industry.

• A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one individual living in the Hancock Health service area* and/or working for Hancock Health.
• Preference will be given to Hancock Health associates.
• Applicants must be accepted into a food-related program, which may include, but is not limited to nutrition, food service, culinary arts, dietetics, or restaurant management.
• Financial need may also be considered when awarding this scholarship.

Created by the Hancock Health Foundation to recognize Dr. David Goldenberg for his 32 years of service to Hancock Regional Hospital and the School of Radiologic Technology. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000 and will be paid to the Hancock Health School of Radiologic Technology to be applied toward the recipient’s fees. An individual may only receive the scholarship one time. One or more of these scholarships may be given through the Luminescence Scholarship program. All students in the Hancock Health School of Radiologic Technology are eligible to apply, regardless of residency.

• Financial need may also be considered when awarding this scholarship.

Selection criteria includes academic standing, financial need, and school/community involvement. The Hancock Health Foundation Radiologic Technology Scholarship selection committee will receive nominations and annually select the recipient(s) to be approved by the Hancock Health Awards and Scholarships Committee. Personal interviews may be conducted.

You will be required to upload two letters of reference (dated 2024 or 2025) to this application prior to submission. Applications that do not include letters of reference will be considered incomplete and disqualified.

One or more of these scholarships may be given through the Luminescence Scholarship program. All students in the Hancock Health School of Radiologic Technology are eligible to apply, regardless of residency.

This scholarship is for Mt. Vernon High School graduates enrolled in the School of Radiologic Technology. Made possible through the generous contributions of Dr. and Mrs. Bryan Burney, this scholarship will cover the student’s full tuition and books for two years of the program, as long as the student remains in good academic standing in the school.

• Must be a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School enrolled in the Hancock Health School of Radiologic Technology.

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the legacy of CL Morris and contribute to the development of future leaders for the Hancock Health network. The CL Morris Healthcare Management and Administration Scholarship established through the Hancock Health Foundation provides financial assistance for Hancock Health associates who demonstrate leadership potential and enroll in a post-secondary or graduate academic program leading to a B.S. or M.S. degree in Healthcare Management or Administration.

The scholarship honors CL Morris’ 16 years of service as Hancock Health’s administrator from 1960 through 1976 and assists in identifying and developing future leaders to serve the health network’s patients, associates, medical staff, and the community at large.

• A $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to a current full or part-time associate of Hancock Health with a minimum of one year work experience within the Hancock Health network at the time of application.

• Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential and their ability to succeed in a post-secondary or graduate level academic program.

• Two letters of reference (dated 2024 or 2025) are required from persons not related to you. One letter must be from an academic professional from your current program/school. One letter must be from your direct supervisor or the director of your department at Hancock Health. If you have been in your academic program for at least one semester, one letter must be from an academic professional from your current program/school. If you are new to the program, you can instead include a letter from another healthcare or academic professional.

• Selection criteria include academic achievement, tenure and work performance at Hancock Health, and the applicant’s demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and the health network’s mission, vision, and values.

• A personal interview with the selection committee may be required.

• Applicants must be accepted into a B.S. or M.S. degree program in Healthcare Management or Healthcare Administration offered by a college or university holding institutional and programmatic accreditation in Healthcare Management Education, preferably by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).

• The scholarship will be payable to the recipient’s college or university to offset the cost of tuition.
