Are you or someone you know looking for a job that provides great benefits in a supportive work environment? Hancock Health is an amazing place to work, and we are looking for motivated, caring people to fill open housekeeping and environmental services positions at Hancock Regional Hospital. Here is what you need to know …
Housekeeping and environmental services are different in a hospital setting
For many of us, the word “housekeeping” brings to mind our last hotel stay, but workers in a hospital setting are expected to perform a wider variety of tasks and have many more chances for career advancement. This type of day-to-day work in a hospital brings more responsibilities and an intensity to the job. Tasks such as daily cleaning and sanitizing of rooms, changing linens and helping to maintain a clean environment are still important just like in a regular housekeeping position, but with the added importance of handling medical waste and other things that require training.
What’s in it for you?
Because working in a hospital environment means more responsibility and higher expectations, Hancock Health offers amazing benefits to employees. Check out some of these things that you will be eligible for as an employee:
Tuition reimbursement
One thing that many employees take advantage of is the tuition reimbursement program (which also extends to family members!). Full and partial reimbursements are available for several programs, trainings and degrees, including nursing, medical assistant, radiologic tech, public health, leadership and more! This helps our employees use their current position as stepping stones to reach their professional goals.
Health plan
Just as we care for our patients, we want our employees to feel their best. That is why we offer great health, dental and vision coverage for those who are eligible. This makes it easier for our employees to access prescriptions, preventative screenings and lifestyle changes that can help them on their health journey.
Retirement planning
In today’s world, it doesn’t always feel easy to set aside money for retirement. Hancock Health makes it easier by offering retirement funding and auto-enrollment. Once our employees have been with us for a certain length of time, we also match their contribution.
Other perks include adoption and parental leave, earned time off and help with life insurance, among many others.
Who should apply?
Our environmental services and housekeeping positions are best filled by those who are self-starters. Although it is important to be able to follow directions, we are looking for people who would like to take on a leadership role in helping us to make health possible in our community. If you are at an impasse in life and know you would like to work in the medical field but don’t know yet what you would like to do, this is the perfect starting point for you. Not only will you gain tons of hands-on knowledge by being a part of the Hancock Health team, but the support of our tuition reimbursement program can help you meet your future goals.
There are housekeeping and environmental services jobs now open for those who would like to apply! Head to Hancock Health Careers or contact us for more information.
