Student Learning Opportunities
Hancock Health offers a variety of learning opportunities to help students gain the necessary experience to prepare them for specific career paths in health and wellness fields, including work-based learning, job shadowing, internships, and clinical programs.
What is Work Based Learning?
Hancock Health’s structured Work-Based Learning program gives Hancock County high school students a tailored experience to prepare them for specific career paths in health and wellness fields. Student participants gain not only valuable on-the-job experience that can help launch them into a variety of career paths, but they also gain the skills today’s employers are looking for and feel more prepared to enter today’s ever-changing workforce. Applicants apply through their high school.

Once you complete and submit our pre-screening form, a member of our clinical education staff will contact you with more information. Fill out the request form online to learn more.
CCMA計劃
Did you know Hancock Health offers a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Training Program? The program is a four-month commitment, plus a six-week externship. New cohorts typically begin two or three times throughout the year. Participants get firsthand experience working in ambulatory settings such as family and internal medicine, OB-GYN, pediatric, immediate care, and other specialty offices.

Nurse Practitioner Extern Program
The Nurse Practitioner Extern Program at Hancock Health gives aspiring nurses real-world experience to help them excel in their field. You must already be a registered nurse (RN) enrolled in an accredited NP program to be eligible for the NP Extern Program at Hancock Health. The program is designed to provide the advanced training necessary to take the step from RN to NP.

Future Healthcare Provider Program
The goal of the Future Healthcare Provider Program is to provide an opportunity to meet the learning and financial needs of student employees while training to become healthcare professionals. It features a fully paid scholarship to IVY Tech Anderson for up to a 2-year degree. Applications are open annually June 1 – July 1, and accepted students must commit to full-time employment at Hancock Health for 3 years post-graduation.

RN Program

TOGETHER WE CARE FOR OUR COMMUNITIES. WE NEED YOU AT HANCOCK HOSPITAL.
- Fully paid scholarships to IVY Tech Anderson campus for up to a 2 -year degree.
- All tuition/books/supplies will be paid by Hancock Health to Ivy Tech.
- Weekly stipend of up to $150 per week will be provided to the student from NSG Admin to spend as they need during school time (16 weeks/semester).
- Nursing students will be required to work a minimum of 2 shifts per quarter (8 shifts per year).
- Students will commit to full-time employment at Hancock Hospital for 3 years post-graduation, or 2 years if admitted at inception as a 2nd year student.
