Beekley Medical is proud to honor Dr. Dennis Myers, Breast Radiologist at Hancock Regional Hospital, as the recipient of the 2025 EMPOWER Award in Mammography. The national recognition celebrates breast radiologists whose expertise, compassion, and commitment to early detection empower women and improve outcomes in the fight against breast cancer.
“We received 37 nominations from across the United States for this year’s EMPOWER award,” said Elizabeth Santoro, Beekley Medical Senior Account Manager. “Dr. Dennis Myers is a shining example of what this award really represents and his accomplishments and compassion stood out among the crowd. He more than a skilled radiologist – he’s a leader, a mentor to his peers, and an unwavering advocate for women’s health. His commitment to delivering exceptional care and empowering his patients through early detection and timely treatment sets a standard of excellence we are proud to recognize.”
Dr. Myers has served the Hancock community for over 20 years, earning admiration for his exceptional clinical care, fast turnaround times, and deep empathy toward patients. His leadership helped reduce diagnostic wait times from 11 days to just 24–48 hours. He also is a passionate advocate for underserved women through his support of the Hancock Health Foundation’s Women Helping Women celebration.
“He is a brilliant radiologist, whether sitting in the dark in the reading room or at a patient’s side performing a biopsy, we know he is going to catch all pathology and do what is best for our patients,” said Lisa Wood, Hancock Health Diagnostic Imaging Services Director. “Over the last 20 years, together as a team, we’ve built a high-quality imaging department and Women’s Clinic that we are all very proud of – it truly takes a village and Dr. Myers is a very special part of that.”
