Verstehen, wie man mit Trauer umgeht

26. August 2016
Grief is a natural reaction to loss. While many think that grief only follows the death of a loved one, it can follow the loss of a friendship, job, or even health. Managing the pain comes in several forms.

It is Different for Everyone

Not everyone handles grief in the same way. There is no “normal” timetable for one to go through the process. While there are generally seven stages, not everyone goes through them all and no one spends the same amount of time in each stage.

Being Strong Doesn’t Make It Go Away

Putting on a strong face doesn’t help the pain go away. While it may seem like a weakness to cry, in fact, crying can be a great way to help others who may be suffering as well.

Don’t be Afraid to Talk

Getting support from someone can help lessen the pain. Sharing the burden makes it easier to heal. If there are no friends or family to turn to, join a support group or talk to a therapist. Those who are religious can turn to a spiritual leader.

Grieving Parties Must Take Care of Themselves

There is no way to get better without taking care of oneself. Eating right, getting plenty of rest, and exercising can help those who are grieving move forward. Visit one of our wellness center locations today to learn more about a membership.
