So, I really get to see and treat the wide variety of patients I enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy philosophy of care has a basis in helping patients understand their health in a way that\u2019s accessible to them and allows me to become their partner in determining the best medical care to allow them to live their life in the way they most see fit,\u201d Dr. Moore said.<\/p>\n<p>He started at Hancock Health in August after serving under a family medicine doctor here during one of his rotations as a medical student. \u201cShe was a mentor of mine, and allowed me to see the nurturing, caring, responsible, effective organization that Hancock Health is,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The most rewarding part of his job is helping a patient through a difficult time. \u201cWhether it\u2019s a medical issue or something more personal to them,\u201d he said. \u201cSeeing the satisfaction or joy in their face as they\u2019ve been able to overcome whatever issue they have\u2014just being there, shoulder-to-shoulder as they go through their experiences\u2014is really rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Moore is particularly passionate about the increased focus on the social determinants to health. \u201cFor a patient, that really gets at not only what medical issues they have, but also what\u2019s occurring in their lives,\u201d he said. \u201cDo they have stable access to food and shelter? What are the living conditions like in their neighborhood and communities? Do they have access to healthy groceries\u2014so really taking into account the entirety of patients&#8217; experiences and using that to try to help patients in the best way possible is exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a father of four kids ranging in age from two to 10, Dr. Moore spends most of his time, when he\u2019s not in the office, running from the baseball diamond to the soccer field.
