In addition, the Governor kicked off the \u201c#INthistogether\u201d and reinforced the importance of social distancing (physical distancing) to combat the spread of COVID-19.\u00a0 He also mentioned that the curve is \u201cflattening in Indiana.\u201d\u00a0 As we monitor the data, we do see indications that the rate of growth slowed slightly over the weekend and this is cause for hope.\u00a0 While the rate of growth may be stabilizing, the actual number of new cases identified each day remains very high.\u00a0 Given this, it is important that we do not slow in our preparations locally\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Should your friends and family have questions on the virus, its impact, and the preparations Hancock Health has undertaken, please refer them to our website (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hancockhealth.org\/zh\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.hancockhealth.org\/coronavirus\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1585870632609000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG75k9pSylPZuy9GEDM4AzD_QN0xw\">http:\/\/www.<wbr \/>hancockregionalhospital.org\/<wbr \/>coronavirus\/<\/a>) which has a growing body of resources to help. If you have not seen the latest video update, it may be found at the following link: <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/402013964\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/vimeo.com\/402013964&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1585870632609000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFNkl6O8Zo8b0iJRP3TPnM3KcjqdA\">https:\/\/vimeo.com\/402013964<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our efforts to reduce our regular patient care volumes as much as possible has worked and we are currently at the lowest inpatient census and outpatient visit level of the last ten years and are well-placed to handle a surge of COVID patients<\/li>\n<li>The Hancock Triage Clinic, Hancock Covid Triage hotline (317-325-2683 (COVD), and <a href=\"mailto:nurse@hancockregional.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nurse@hancockregional.org<\/a> email lines continue to provide needed service to the community during this time.<\/li>\n<li>Work to retrofit the Reflections unit to our first COVID care unit will be completed on Monday when it is stocked for the new purpose.\u00a0 Additional surge plans are being finalized that include in-house and off-site locations including our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gatewayhancockhealth.org\">\u9598\u9053<\/a> facility as a last resort.<\/li>\n<li>The end of in-person patient visitation has gone well and we have used the e-visitation system to great effect a few times.\u00a0 Learn more at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hancockhealth.org\/zh\/2020\/03\/friends-or-family-in-the-hospital-e-visit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.hancockhealth.org\/2020\/03\/friends-or-family-in-the-hospital-e-visit\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1585870632609000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFqNk4A-AMiYN5J9GnzDiF4LPJj8A\">https:\/\/www.<wbr \/>hancockregionalhospital.org\/<wbr \/>2020\/03\/friends-or-family-in-<wbr \/>the-hospital-e-visit\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Some hospitals in Indianapolis and surrounding counties are in a yellow or red status for PPE.\u00a0 We are very fortunate to still be in the green.\u00a0 This doesn\u2019t mean we can stop conserving.
