As we continue to navigate the coronavirus pandemic, it\u2019s understandable that you might be concerned about your safety when you need health care.<\/p>\n<p>We know it\u2019s been a challenging time, but great health care is the last thing you need to fear. So, we\u2019ve taken all kinds of steps to make sure you\u2019re protected when you\u2019re interacting with us. Here are answers to a few questions you might have about how we\u2019re keeping our patients safe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will you be at risk of exposure to COVID-19?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hancock Health\u2019s COVID-19 units are separated from the rest of our operations. We maintain dedicated COVID-19 facilities for testing, diagnosis, and treatment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What happens when you arrive at an appointment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you arrive at Hancock Regional Hospital, a Hancock associate will greet you, check you in, provide a mask and take you to your appointment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about sanitization and social distancing?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sanitization has always been a priority at Hancock Health, and never more so than now. We\u2019re working overtime to make sure we\u2019re following the best practices, sanitizing exam rooms between each patient visit and other common areas regularly.<\/p>\n<p>As for social distancing, Hancock Health will continue to follow the guidelines put in place by Governor Holcomb and the Indiana State Department of Health. You will continue to see empty or almost empty waiting rooms at Hancock Health facilities, as we continue to add time between patients to sanitize and maintain best practices to ensure your health and safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who do you call when you need care? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you need routine care, call your Hancock primary care physician. We\u2019re scheduling virtual and in-person visits right now.<\/p>\n<p>If you have COVID-19 symptoms, or you\u2019re concerned you\u2019ve contracted the virus, call the Hancock Coronavirus Hotline: 317-325-COVD (2683).<\/p>\n<p>If you need to find out about an appointment at Hancock Regional Hospital, call the Hancock Welcome Line at 317-462-5544.<\/p>\n<p>And if you need emergency care, don\u2019t wait. Here\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hancockhealth.org\/ja\/2020\/04\/were-open-right-now-to-handle-your-medical-emergency\/\">list of good reasons<\/a> to call 911 or the Hancock Regional Hospital ER now. We\u2019re prepared to treat you immediately, without exposing you to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can I still schedule a virtual visit? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Virtual visits will continue to be a service provided to Hancock patients going forward. To schedule a virtual visit, contact your doctor\u2019s office directly. We\u2019ll advise you on whether you should come see us in person, or if a virtual visit via your computer, tablet, or smartphone will work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t wait to get the care you need<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your healthcare needs didn\u2019t all go away when the COVID-19 pandemic struck\u2014and Hancock Health has worked hard to adapt to this changing situation without compromising the quality care you expect and deserve.
