You want to see them, but, because of COVID restrictions, you can\u2019t enter the hospital. What now?<\/p>\n<p>Now there\u2019s E-Visitation. Through a partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ninestarconnect.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NineStar Connect<\/a>, you can visit your loved ones at Hancock Regional Hospital without coming inside.<\/p>\n<p>During this time, we\u2019re doing everything we can to help protect the health of our community\u2014and staying in touch with patients, even from a distance, can be an important part of the healing process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that patients do better in the hospital when they\u2019re visited by family and friends,\u201d said Adam Wilhelm, director of nursing administration at Hancock Regional Hospital. \u201cBeing able to see a friendly face or talk to a loved one can make a big difference in their care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>How E-Visitation works<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NineStar Connect worked to extend our wifi network beyond the hospital walls and into the parking lot\u2014so you can visit patients without leaving your car. Here\u2019s how it works:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Beginning Saturday, March 28 call us at 317.468.4800 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to schedule your e-visit.<\/li>\n<li>At your appointed time, pull into the valet parking area in front of Hancock Regional Hospital\u2019s main entrance. We\u2019ll bring you an iPad\u2014and a nurse will bring another iPad to your loved one so you can visit.<\/li>\n<li>E-visits for families are 15 minutes long and will take place from 2 &#8211; 4 p.m. Pastoral care visits are also 15 minutes and are available from 4 \u2013 5 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other ways you can connect<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you can connect with your loved one in the hospital via Facetime, Skype, or another video conferencing service on your own mobile devices, please feel free to do so at your leisure\u2014no appointments necessary! But not everyone has the resources to connect electronically from home. For those people, E-Visitation is a great option.<\/p>\n<p>Wilhelm said E-Visitation wouldn\u2019t have been possible without NineStar Connect\u2019s partnership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve partnered with NineStar Connect in our community for years. We reached out for help, and they were able to extend our wifi network into our parking lot at a moment\u2019s notice so that we could offer this to our patients and their families and friends,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s great to see a community come together in a time of need.
