Courses include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduction to Radiologic Sciences and Healthcare<\/li>\n<li>Patient Care in Radiologic Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Principles of Imaging<\/li>\n<li>Radiographic Procedures<\/li>\n<li>Radiographic Pathology<\/li>\n<li>Radiation Biology and Radiation Protection<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to CT and Sectional Anatomy<\/li>\n<li>Ethics and Law in Radiologic Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Clinical Image Analysis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants will also complete a practicum. Graduates are eligible to sit for the national examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Passing the exam earns students credentials under the authority of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. A college degree is not required to enter our program, but the requirements are different depending on whether or not you have a college degree.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If You Have an Associate Degree (or Higher)<br \/>\n<\/strong>In order to be considered for the program, you must have completed the following courses from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum course grade of \u201cC\u201d (1.6 on a 4.0 scale).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mathematics\/logical reasoning: 3 credit hours in college algebra or higher-level math<\/li>\n<li>Communication: 3 credit hours in English Composition AND Fundamentals of Public Speaking, OR Interpersonal Communication<\/li>\n<li>Anatomy and Physiology I, II: <strong>Minimum of 5 credit hours within the last 5 years<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Chemistry OR Physics: 3 credit hours<\/li>\n<li>High school chemistry or physics is acceptable<\/li>\n<li>Medical Terminology: Minimum of 2 credit hours <strong>within the last 5 years<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Introduction to General Psychology OR Principles of Sociology: 3 credit hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Contact the school with questions about whether a course meets the prerequisites at (317) 468-4468.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If You Do Not Have A College Degree<\/strong><br \/>\nA total of 22 credit hours in prerequisite courses are required by Ivy Tech in order to confer an Associate of Applied Science in Imaging Science through Hancock Health\u2019s program. Out of the 22 credit hours, at least 15 hours must be completed at Ivy Tech. The remaining 7 credit hours may be transferred from another institution. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum grade of \u201cC-.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Admission preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate completion of all prerequisite courses on the transcript at the time of application. Tuition does not include the cost of textbooks, the fee for taking the National Registry Exam, uniform scrubs, or other miscellaneous items.<\/p>\n<p>The first year\u2019s tuition is $3,500 and includes a $500 deposit that is paid when accepting your position in the program. Also due at the time of tuition payment is a $15 fee for the Clinical Record Log book. More information on the program deposit is provided in the letter of acceptance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year one tuition is $3,500. A $500 deposit is due when accepting your position in the program. The remaining balance may be paid in one of the following ways:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One payment of $3,000, due on or before June 1<\/li>\n<li>Two payments, one of $2,000 due on or before May 31 and a second payment of $1,000 is due on or before December 1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Year two tuition is $3,500 and may be paid in one of the following ways:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One payment of $3,500 due on or before June 30<\/li>\n<li>Two payments, one of $2,000 due on or before June 1 and a second payment of $1,500, due on or before December 1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you plan to pay in two installments, you must inform the program director when you intend to pay.<\/p>\n<p>If the first year\u2019s tuition is not received by the due date, acceptance into the program will be revoked. Tuition not received by the due date(s) will result in an immediate suspension up to 30 days; when the tuition is received the student may return to school. If the tuition is not received within the 30 days, the student will be dismissed from the program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Activity and Technology Fee<\/strong><br \/>\nTo cover registry review materials and miscellaneous expenses such as field trips, a student activity fee of $200 is due by May 31. A technology fee of $70 is also due by May 31. Both fees are due prior to program entry, are non-refundable, and may be paid with one check or money order.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Textbooks<\/strong><br \/>\nAccepted students will receive information for ordering textbooks prior to the start of classes. Textbook costs are approximately $900-$1,000 for the program. Students who choose to purchase textbooks on their own are responsible for making sure they order the correct textbook and edition. You may also purchase used textbooks from graduating students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Financial Aid &amp; Scholarships<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>We do not participate in the federal financial aid program (FAFSA).<\/strong> However, many of our students are eligible to obtain financial help through WorkOne and enrolled students are eligible to apply for the Hancock Health Foundation scholarships. Additionally, several students have been able to obtain scholarships through their local community foundations.<br \/>\nThe typical scholarship from the Hancock Health Foundation is $1,000 per student. Scholarships provided by the Hancock Health Foundation are not guaranteed to any student.<\/p>\n<p>Many of our students do work in addition to attending the program, however, it is not easy to do so. Students are expected to be in the clinic four days a week and in class one day a week. During the second year, students also rotate through weekend and evening shifts. Students must adjust their schedule around the assigned clinical and class hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Withdrawal &amp; Tuition Refunds<\/strong><br \/>\nTo withdraw from the program, a student must submit a letter of voluntary withdrawal to the program director. The student is responsible for returning lead markers, badges, loaned books, and any other program owned materials. If no letter is submitted or program items are not returned, the student\u2019s records will not be finalized. We reserve the right to a two-week period after withdrawal to finalize records.<br \/>\nA full tuition refund will be given upon student withdrawal if the first-year tuition is paid prior to the tuition deadline. An 80% refund of the first-year tuition will be granted if the student voluntarily withdraws from the program prior to the first day of school, is denied entry as a result of the required drug screen, criminal background check, or pre-enrollment physical.
