Summer is always a special time of year for the Centres de bien-\u00eatre Hancock<\/a> due to our annual Your Membership Gives Back<\/em> campaign. Curious what it is all about? Let us explain.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\n\n<\/div>

Throughout the months of July and August, when you join at any of our three Hancock Wellness Centers, a portion of your enrollment fee will go to help support Hancock County\u2019s Circle of Care<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\n\n<\/div>
\n

This is the fourth year that the Wellness Centers have rallied for this special campaign. During the inaugural year, funds raised were raised to benefit three local not-for-profits \u2013 one near each of the Wellness Center areas. The Greenfield location\u2019s funds benefited Hancock Health Foundation\u2019s Mental Health campaign. The McCordsville location\u2019s funds benefited the Peyton Riekhof Foundation for Youth Hope and New Palestine\u2019s funds benefited the Hope Center Indy off Brookville Road.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\n\n<\/div>
\n

For year two of the Your Membership Gives Back <\/em>campaign, all three locations decided to have all funds raised go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County. Many of the members and staff of the Wellness Centers recall benefiting from the programs, events, and activities at the at the local Boys and Girls Clubs and loved the idea of giving back to an organization that means so much to so many in the community. Through that year\u2019s campaign, the Wellness Centers were able to donate $10,000.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\n\n<\/div>
\n

Last year\u2019s campaign recipient was the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, who has hit a record for meals served \u2013 4452 meals. That is a 44% increase from the previous year. The need is great, neighbors, and food prices are ever increasing. The soup kitchen was ecstatic to receive the extra support and grateful for the generosity of the community.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\n\n<\/div>
\n

\u201cOften individuals do not realize, we are more than just a gym. We also are a service-based organization and part of the community,\u201d notes Joel Hungate, Executive Director of Hancock Well-Being and Employer Strategy. \u201cWe really enjoy rallying to support the community and working to make a difference \u2013 not just through wellness and fitness, but holistically \u2013 mind, body and soul.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>

\n\n<\/div>
\n

For 2024, the local non-profit that will be benefiting from our Your Membership Gives Back<\/em> campaign is Circle of Care, a hub for community non-profits working together to better the community. This connection of resources, under one roof, allows local non-profits to work together with those in need to avoid overlap in services, accountability in resources, a relational non-siloed approach to meeting the community’s needs and connecting residents with many services at once.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\n\n<\/div>
\n

The current Circle of Care tenants are Meals on Wheels, Women’s Resource Center, FUSE, Firefly, Hancock Co Children’s Choir, Center Township Trustee, and Through the Woods Counseling. <\/p>\n<\/div>

\n\n<\/div>
\n

The biggest need for the shared space is facility and operational improvements. This includes the need for security, technology, and capital improvements, such as a new roof. Through the Your Membership Gives Back<\/em> campaign members will be helping fund improvements to the building which will provide a safe, inviting environment for the non-profit organizations and the residents that they serve.<\/p>\n<\/div>

To participate in Your Membership Gives Back<\/em>, all you need to do is visit one of our three Wellness Centers this summer and enroll as a new member. It\u2019s that easy!<\/p>\n<\/div>
