If that\u2019s true, then one of the easiest new habits you can make\u2014if you haven\u2019t already\u2014is the habit of moving more.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>Experts recommend getting at least 30 minutes of moderate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hancockhealth.org\/fr\/2020\/03\/consult-a-doctor-before-beginning-an-exercise-program-just-a-disclaimer-or-good-advice\/\">physical activity<\/a> each day. Vigorous activity may be even more beneficial. But the key is to get it done and make it part of your routine. Here are three easy ways to make sure moving happens:<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-heading core-heading\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Have a Ritual<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>Habits can be built most easily from the little rituals that we keep doing over and over. A ritual is like a habit\u2014the biggest difference being that you can keep to a ritual before you\u2019ve really formed the habit. One effective method: <a href=\"https:\/\/jamesclear.com\/twyla-tharp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Make exercise only part of the ritual<\/a>\u2014not the whole ritual. Maybe your ritual is something like this: You get up at six. Put on your workout clothes. Start a pot of coffee. Let the dog out and start running. After you\u2019re done running, you let the dog back in. Then you sit and have another cup of coffee, shower, and get ready for work.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>Only a few parts of this ritual have to do with exercise. The rest are things that may be easier to do when you\u2019re just waking up in the morning, like putting on some workout clothes, or making a pot of coffee. When you associate the running with these other parts of the ritual, the running is more likely to get done. It also may help if there\u2019s a small reward after, like drinking the coffee you made earlier.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-heading core-heading\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Start Small<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>When you\u2019re first forming an exercise habit, it helps to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/how-to-start-exercising#section3\" target=\"_blank\">set very reasonable, even somewhat small expectations<\/a> for each time you go out. If you set out to run three miles a day every single day, your odds of falling short at least some of the time are great. If you say you\u2019ll run a mile at least four days a week, you\u2019ll likely be more successful\u2014and you\u2019ll have four miles a week under your belt to build on.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-heading core-heading\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Focus on the Habit, Not Results<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>A lot of us begin positive new habits with some other goal in mind\u2014like losing weight or running a 5K. These may be goals worth achieving, but moving more is a positive step in its own right. As long as you\u2019re making a good new habit, it doesn\u2019t matter whether you\u2019re immediately dropping pounds or getting in major miles.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>Instead of <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.myfitnesspal.com\/how-to-stay-motivated-to-exercise-when-you-arent-seeing-results-yet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">focusing on results,<\/a> focus on how moving more makes you feel. Do you have more energy in the morning? Do you notice that your breathing is clearer? Are old aches and pains clearing up?
