BUT, the goal of this blog is to help parents and caregivers get one step closer! Today we\u2019re going to explore what a balanced lunch consists of, what updated nutrition guidelines say, and tips and tricks to help make it easier for parents to provide balanced nutrition for your kids.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is Considered a \u201cBalanced Lunch\u201d in the First Place?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In January, the U.S. government released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/press-room\/fact-sheet-historic-reset-federal-nutrition-policy.html\">new nutrition guidelines <\/a>which represent a significant shift toward prioritizing nutrient-dense, whole foods. What\u2019s a nutrient-dense whole food you ask? We\u2019ll break it down for you using the <a href=\"https:\/\/realfood.gov\/\">major food groups<\/a>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-list core-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>High-Quality Protein, Dairy &amp; Healthy Fats<\/strong>: Daily target is 0.55-0.73 grams of protein per pound of body weight per day\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-list core-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fruits &amp; Vegetables<\/strong>: Daily fruits target is 2 servings per day, and daily vegetables target is 3 servings per day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-list core-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Whole Grains:<\/strong> Daily targetis 2\u20134 servings per day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What\u2019s not a nutrient-dense food?
