Leapfrog assigns grades to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>Hancock Regional Hospital is the highest graded hospital in the state for this cycle and the longest running \u201cA\u201d grade in Indiana. In addition, it also puts Hancock Health among only 4% of hospitals in the country to get an \u201cA\u201d rating more than 10 times in a row.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>\u201cAt Hancock Health, we prioritize patient safety so patients can focus on feeling their best and getting back to their normal lives,\u201d said Hancock Health CEO Steve Long. \u201cWe are honored to receive this Leapfrog Group safety grade again and recognize the consistent dedication of our physicians and staff has made this achievement possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>\u201cMy sincere congratulations to Hancock Regional Hospital for upholding patient safety standards through thick and thin, achieving an \u2018A\u2019 Hospital Safety Grade for 11 consecutive rounds of the Safety Grade,\u201d said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. \u201cConsistently earning an A demonstrates a long-term, organization-wide commitment to putting patient safety first.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that are the cause of mortality for more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
