href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2024\/01\/29\/new-years-resolutions-who-makes-them-and-why\/#:~:text=About%20six%2Din%2Dten%20adults,stuck%20with%20them%20so%20far.\">four-in-10 adults who can\u2019t seem to keep a resolution, or the 70% who didn\u2019t make them at all for fear of failing<\/a>, then perhaps resolutions are more detrimental to your health than helpful. But the good news is, if you still really, <em>en realidad <\/em>want to make a resolution this year, you can! And if you make it a little more within reach, you may just keep it.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-heading core-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rome Wasn\u2019t Built in a Day<\/h2>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>For many people\u2014especially busy people\u2014the habit-forming required for most resolutions is too much to keep up with. Or, maybe the resolution itself is so broad that it feels impossible to attain. But by narrowing in and&nbsp; making <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlassian.com\/blog\/productivity\/how-to-write-smart-goals#:~:text=The%20SMART%20in%20SMART%20goals,within%20a%20certain%20time%20frame.\">SMART goals<\/a>\u2014that\u2019s specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound\u2014you\u2019ll be more likely to stick to your goals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>For example, instead of resolving to go to the gym every day, try something like this: Exercise with cardio for 15 minutes a day for one year to improve stamina.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>That may seem like a small number, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/health\/fitness\/why-15-minutes-of-exercise-is-enough-to-transform-your-health-in-2024\/\">even just 15 minutes<\/a> can have tremendous health benefits. And, while going to the gym <em>every day <\/em>may not always be possible (although <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hancockhealth.org\/es\/location\/hancock-wellness-center-greenfield\/\">Centros de bienestar Hancock<\/a> can help with that on the days you <em>poder <\/em>get there), there are plenty of simple, 15-minute exercises you can do right at home.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>Some of those 15-minute exercises include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-list core-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Going up and down the stairs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking the family dog for a walk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Playing tag with the kids in the backyard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A quick round of yoga in the morning before work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>Or, if even the 15 minutes feels impossible, you can do 5-minute increments throughout the day. The goal is <strong>specific<\/strong> (exercise with cardio), <strong>measurable<\/strong> (for 15 minutes a day), <strong>achievable<\/strong> (15 minutes a day is more achievable than a gym trip every single day), <strong>relevant<\/strong> (you want to improve your stamina), and <strong>time-bound<\/strong> (for one year).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>You can tweak your resolution however you\u2019d like, but by following SMART goals and keeping things achievable based on your abilities and schedules, you\u2019re more likely to keep your resolutions in the long run.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-heading core-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">And if You Still Fail\u2026<\/h2>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>\u2026 then remember that failure isn\u2019t a bad thing. It\u2019s better to try and not hit your goal than not try at all. Even if you were to exercise for just five minutes instead of fifteen, that\u2019s still five minutes of exercise you wouldn\u2019t have had otherwise. Remember to celebrate the small wins, <em>y <\/em>the big ones, and give yourself plenty of grace, patience, and time.
