Hancock Regional Hospital Nationally Recognized with an \u2018A\u2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade<\/b><\/p>\n

GREENFIELD, IND.<\/b> (May 13, 2021) \u2014<\/span> Hancock Regional Hospital received an \u201cA\u201d grade from <\/span>Un salto en seguridad hospitalaria<\/span><\/a> in the national organization\u2019s Spring 2022 rankings. Leapfrog Hospital Safety bestowed this national recognition that highlights Hancock Health\u2019s achievement in protecting patients from sickness, harm, or error while in the hospital\u2019s care. This is the fourth consecutive time Hancock Regional Hospital has received this recognition, after earning an \u201cA\u201d grade in Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Fall 2021<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEvery new Hancock Health associate learns about our L.O.V.E. promise to live our values every day, and there is no more fundamental standard for our staff than the health and safety of our patients and community members,\u201d said Steve Long, president and CEO of Hancock Health. \u201cWe are fortunate to have tremendous clinical talent and access to leading surgical facilities to make our patients\u2019 stays as safe as can be.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an \u201cA,\u201d \u201cB,\u201d \u201cC,\u201d \u201cD,\u201d or \u201cF\u201d grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.<\/span><\/p>\n
