Caring for an ill loved one can be an incredibly stressful time. As a caregiver, you can feel like you are drowning in the needs of others. It is difficult to know when you will be allowed to take time for yourself and fulfill your own needs without guilt. Whether you are navigating the choppy waters of chronic illness, Parkinson\u2019s, Alzheimer’s, cancer and more, Hancock Health offers a space to find guidance, camaraderie and ease. <\/p>\n<\/div>

Caregivers have an extraordinary responsibility that goes far beyond every day tasks. You may wonder when you will have time to get everything done, between doctor\u2019s visits, medication consultations, treatments, surgeries and ensuring your loved one is doing okay emotionally and mentally. It can strain relationships and add stress into an already full life for many people. <\/p>\n<\/div>

Having a safe space to talk about your experience and get advice from those who are navigating the same phase of life is an invaluable resource. Hancock Health\u2019s Caregiver Support Group is here to be that space, offering both education and camaraderie. This group meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 2:00pm-3:00pm in the Resource Lounge of the Cancer Center on the first floor. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>

Regardless of your loved one\u2019s diagnosis, you will find help and support offered freely at this group. No registration is required in order to attend.<\/p>\n<\/div>

At Hancock Health, we do things differently, especially when it comes to supporting the family, friends and caregivers who are supporting our patients. Support groups are just one way we can give back to our community and provide a safe space for people to feel seen, heard and understood on their journey. <\/p>\n<\/div>
