Holcomb and State Health Commissioner Lindsay Weaver, M.D., FACEP, for their commitment to infant and maternal health at the fourth annual <em>INspire Hospital of Distinction <\/em>recognition program.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p><em>INspire<\/em>, funded by the Indiana Department of Health\u2019s Safety PIN grant, was developed to implement the delivery of best practice care for Hoosier moms and babies and recognize hospitals for excellence in addressing key drivers of infant and maternal health.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>\u201cThe daily work of our delivering hospitals makes a monumental impact on the lives of so many Hoosier moms and infants in every corner of our state,\u201d said Governor Holcomb. \u201cThese caregivers are much needed and appreciated, and we will continue to partner with them to support our shared goal of a healthy Hoosier tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>Hancock Health earned the INSpire Hospital of Distinction recognition based on implementing best practices in seven key areas, including infant safe sleep, breastfeeding, tobacco prevention and cessation, perinatal substance use, obstetric hemorrhage, maternal hypertension, and social determinants of health.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>&#8220;We are honored to have received this recognition,&#8221; said Hancock Health President and CEO Steve Long. &#8220;The entire Hancock Health team is committed to making health possible for all of East Central Indiana and our littlest patients are no exception. Our team of providers, nurses and staff that support our Andis Women + Childrens unit ensure all babies, and their mothers, have the safest and best introduction into their brand new world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress- core-\">\n\n<\/div><div class=\"container mx-auto   wordpress-block wordpress-paragraph core-paragraph\">\n<p>\u201cOur birthing hospitals work tremendously hard to make sure all babies born in Indiana have the best start at life, while caring for the mothers who delivered them,\u201d said Dr. Weaver. \u201cReducing infant and maternal mortality requires a continued multi-pronged approach over the course of many years to see impactful change.
